How to create the card:

  1. Use the largest of the dies to cut cardstock that will function as the display “concertina” and fold along the score lines.
  2. Use the second largest of the dies to cut the swivel mechanism from cardstock and fold along all the scored lines.
  3. To create the swivel mechanism, fold the swivel mechanism card away from you along the center line and bring to left and right side of the card together.
  4. Cut your card based with a pair of scissors from a different piece of cardstock. Glue the two triangular parts (top and bottom) of the mechanism to the insides (top and bottom) of the card based.
  5. Close the card to make sure that the swivel mechanism folds correctly.
  6. Open the card and glue the display “concertina” as follows: glue the back of the left “concertina” window to the top of the left arm of the swivel mechanism, then glue the back of the right “concertina” to the bottom of the right arm of the swivel mechanism.
  7. Close and open the card a few times to ease the swivel mechanism to open and close smoothly.
  8. Use the smaller dies to decorate the panels of the display “concertina”.

Cutting dies in paper crafting are essential tools used to create precise and intricate shapes from paper or cardstock. These dies are typically made of metal and come in various designs, ranging from simple shapes to elaborate patterns. Crafters place the die on the chosen material and run it through a die-cutting machine, resulting in accurately cut pieces that can be assembled to form embellishments, cards, or other paper projects. The versatility of cutting dies allows crafters to add detailed and professional-looking elements to their creations, enhancing the overall aesthetic of their paper crafts.
