Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use a stamping platform that includes a foam pad and bar magnet:

Materials Needed:

  • Stamping platform (with foam pad and bar magnet)
  • Ink pad
  • Stamps (clear or rubber)
  • Paper or cardstock
  • Cleaning cloth or stamp cleaner

Steps:

  1. Prepare the Platform:
    • Place the stamping platform on a flat, stable surface.
    • Open the platform so that you have access to both the base and the lid.
  2. Insert the Foam Pad:
    • If you’re using clear stamps, place the foam pad on the base of the platform. This pad ensures that clear stamps make good contact with the paper.
    • For rubber stamps, you may not need the foam pad, depending on the thickness of the rubber and the design of your platform.
  3. Position Your Paper:
    • Place your paper or cardstock on the base of the platform.
    • Use the bar magnet to hold the paper in place. This will prevent it from shifting during the stamping process.
  4. Align Your Stamp:
    • Place your stamp, stamp-side down, onto the paper where you want the image to be.
    • Close the lid of the stamping platform, pressing down gently so that the stamp adheres to the lid.
    • Open the lid again, the stamp should now be attached to it.
  5. Ink the Stamp:
    • With the lid open, apply ink to the stamp. Make sure to cover the entire stamp surface with ink for an even impression.
    • If using multiple colors, clean the stamp between applications to avoid mixing inks.
  6. Stamp the Image:
    • Close the lid of the stamping platform onto the paper.
    • Press down firmly and evenly across the lid to ensure the entire stamp contacts the paper.
    • Open the lid to reveal the stamped image.
  7. Repeat if Necessary:
    • If the image is not as dark or clear as you want, you can reapply ink to the stamp and close the lid again to stamp in the exact same position. The bar magnet ensures that the paper remains in place for precise alignment.
  8. Clean the Stamp:
    • After stamping, clean your stamp using a cleaning cloth or stamp cleaner to remove any remaining ink.

Tips:

  • Practice on scrap paper to get a feel for the pressure and inking needed.
  • Ensure the foam pad and bar magnet are properly placed to avoid any uneven stamping.
  • For intricate designs, you may need to stamp multiple times to get a crisp image.

Using a stamping platform can greatly improve the quality and consistency of your stamping projects, making it easier to create beautiful and professional-looking designs.
